The Eleanor Levovitz Senior Citizen Apartment Building is a retirement community designed through the combined efforts of church (Congregation Sons of Israel) and state (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-HUD under Section 202-Section 8).

The tenants of the Eleanor Levovitz Senior Citizen Apartments have the convenience of living in central New Jersey. This particular building is located within walking distance to small town community shopping, transportation, cultural, and educational programs. They have their choice of staying in town taking public transportation to stroll the Jersey shores, playing slots in Atlantic City, getting dinner and watching a play in either Philadelphia or New York City or catching a minor league ball game at the local Blue Claws Stadium. Many tenants like to just take advantage of the building’s library, lounge, and recreation rooms.

Accomodations
The Eleanor Levovitz Senior Citizen Apartments are everything an independent residence should be and more. The eight story structure offers 150 one-bedrooom apartments on beautifully landscaped grounds in the historic town of Lakewood Ocean Township in the southern part of central New Jersey. It is warm and comfortable. It is a place where tenants can enjoy accomodations in a homelike atmosphere.
Each site residence has approximately 665 sq. ft. of bright/airy living quarters with individual thermostatically-controlled heating and air conditioning systems for tenant comfort. The units are decorated with neutral color wall to wall carpeting, vinyl tiled kitchens and baths, and window blind treatment. The kitchens are equipped with light colored oak cabinetry and modern appliances. Note: Although washer and dryers are not permitted within the individual units a private coin operated laundry facility is located on premise.
Each unit is wired for cable TV and has emergency pull chords located in both the bedrooms and bath areas. The building is fully protected by a prinkler system and is fire resistant. A sophisticated smoke and fire detection system was installed with the safety of the tenants in mind.
Religious Services
The Eleanor Levovitz Senior Citizen Apartments respect all faiths of its tenants. Several local churches, synagogues and other houses of worship are located conveniently within town limits.
Government Services
Police, fire, ambulance, and social service facilities are also located within the town of Lakewood. Tenants of the complex have the luxury of casting their votes in any governmental election, federal, state, or local, right in their own community room provided they are registered in the district.
A part time service coordinator is available on site to assist with everyday questions and answers. This convenience was established to provide a helping hand to the individual residents.
