Our goal at Philip Murray House is to maintain a complete and
occupied apartment community of first quality. We offer equal housing

Transportation is excellent with six (6) bus lines, the Broad Street
subway and the Fern Rock terminal are only a few blocks away from the site.
ACCESSIBILITY
It is easy to reach most sections of the metro area from the
Philip Murray House. The Broad Street subway, buses, as well as
automobiles, make it easy to reach Germantown, Chestnut Hill, the Northeast Circle, Abington, Jenkintown, and of course to the center
of Philadelphia, South and West Philadelphia.
COST
The building is subsidized by (HUD) Department of Housing and
Urban Development. Rents are based on 30% of the applicants
annual income and medical expenses. If you are eligible for Subsidy your rental amount shall be determined, (when applicant is accepted)
by the management staff. Current market rates ranges are $460., $594. and $608. Utilities (heat, air and water) are included in the monthly rental amount. Typical apartment floor plans are outlined below.

OAK LANE AREA
Characteristic of a long established neighborhood. Oak Lane is well served by all types of facilities including the Albert Einstein Medical Center, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, a local post office,
libraries, churches, schools and colleges. The Morris Estate recreation center which has a swimming pool sits directly behind the property and our seniors are welcome to participate in the centers daily activities and
special affairs. A considerable variety of residents of all ages and
backgrounds make their home in this area.
THE APARTMENTS
The apartments are 3 different sizes. Large bedroom, which has a
walk-in closet, small bedroom, without the walk-in closet and
efficiency units. All of the apartments have large bathrooms and are handicap accessible. The building has maximum space for each
apartment with a fine view of the park-like surroundings. Sun and
air, trees and lawns are part of daily living in this park setting. Each apartment has complete cooking facilities. Units have heat and air
conditioning. Cable ready, and an intercom system that works through their home telephone line. Ample room sizes and storage space in the apartments make it possible to meet all the needs of daily independent living.
SERVICES
The entire ground floor is devoted to a large community room,
that’s used for general purpose such as conferences, social and group
activities. A laundry room, a library, management offices, and
maintenance workshop areas. We have a Beauty Salon, Neighborhood Network Center, Service Coordinator, and a translator to assist our
Asian population that’s available to all of the residents. Door services are provided after office hours from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday thru
Friday and 24 hours on Saturdays and Sundays. We have an active
Tenant Association which meets the last Monday of each month in the
Auditorium. Notices are posted on the bulletin board providing residents with things to do or attend. Services and activities are for the residents
wishing to participate, expressed through committees and organizations of their own choosing and offer the possibility for substantial
enrichment of living.
